GitHub has announced the launch of a new platform called "Agent HQ" designed to give developers access to various third-party AI coding agents. Besides their well-known GitHub Copilot, developers can soon explore tools like OpenAI’s Codex, Anthropic’s Claude, Google’s Jules, xAI, and Cognition’s Devin through GitHub in the next few months.
Subscribers of GitHub Copilot will have a "mission control" dashboard at their disposal. This feature will enable them to oversee, manage, and monitor multiple AI coding agents simultaneously.

The Agent HQ will also allow developers to employ multiple AI agents concurrently for the same task. This approach lets them choose the most preferred output from different agents. Before the full release of Agent HQ, GitHub is granting access to OpenAI Codex for Copilot Pro Plus users involved in the VS Code Insiders program.
Additionally, GitHub is launching several ancillary tools, including a "Plan Mode" in VS Code. This feature harnesses Copilot to devise a detailed plan for a task that the AI agent will subsequently carry out. Moreover, GitHub is integrating a code review step in Copilot. This addition enables the agent to utilize tools like CodeQL for code assessment before presenting it to a developer.
